Statement of Purpose & Inclusion

At Interwoven, we desire to be a church woven together as one, becoming a witness of Christ’s love on the earth. We proclaim that all are created in the image of God and are deserving of being seen, heard, valued, and celebrated. We seek to establish an authentic worshiping community that uplifts the whole person: spiritually, emotionally, physically, economically, and psychologically.

We are committed to being a community intentional about working through divisions that commonly impede our ability to love one another. We will work to uphold the inherent dignity and goodness in all of humanity–especially marginalized people: people of color, women, disabled people, the elderly, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Interwoven will create an environment where people from all walks of life can come together and worship Jesus Christ in mutuality, peace, and love. In committing to understanding our own brokenness, we will listen to one another, and create authentic space to share our lived experiences. We will, in humility, engage in this process of being woven together, committing ourselves to draw nearer to God and each other.  Through thoughtful exegesis of Scripture, we will rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit to guide us, as a community, in lament, healing, and practices of justice.
